Our attendance averages16 members, who have a wide variety of shipping interests, and we look forward to welcoming new members, regular or occasional.
Meetings include news of society and shipping events be they local, national or international. The main evenings's business usually takes the form of a talk
illustrated by slides or digital images. We are also able to project DVDs.
Over the years the evening's themes have included almost every type of ship and has featured shipping old and new in ports harbours and canals
from all corners of the world.
See our Diary and Meetings Reports pages to see the diverse
range of topics that are covered.
A break in the evening's programme allows members time to catch up with other member's news and views and to take advantage of the Community Club's bar for refreshments (a small annual membership fee payable).
There are often items for sale; including WSS shop items and publications, usually available at a discount. Other sale items include postcards, photographs,
and new and second-hand books.
We support the RNLI and often have items for sale such as RNLI Tea
and, in the season, RNLI Christmas Cards.
Other items can be ordered from the catalogue.
Members taking books/magazines donated to the branch usually require
a donation to the "Lifeboat".
